Soul
Astrology is the name given to forms of astrology that draw upon
psychological astrology, transpersonal psychology and esoteric
astrology, to create a model of the Universe and how we fit into it.
Many eminent people throughout history have also been astrologers. Carl
Jung, one of the fathers of modern psychology, and the great
mathematician Pythagoras, were also accomplished astrologers.
What Is My Soul Sign?
Your Soul Sign is your Rising Sign, or Ascendant. It is the sign that
was rising over the horizon at the point of your birth, and therefore
is the 'dawn' of your life. It is the most important sign in Soul
Astrology because it indicates your Soul's growth and what you came
here to do.
In contrast, your sun and moon signs are the dual aspects of your
personality: your sun sign is that which is in the light, that you are
conscious of, and your moon sign indicates your 'shadow' or aspects of
your personality that you are mostly unaware of.
Buddha taught that the true nature of our mind is one of pristine
clarity like a stream of crystal clear mountain water. From this place,
our perception is exquisite: all is known. We are clairvoyant,
clairaudient, and clairsentient because all is clear: nothing is in the
way; we have clear sight, sound and knowing. We are omniscient, all
really is known. For most of us the spiritual path is a way of
returning to this utmost clarity.
Soul Astrology can be developed to the point where it becomes an
effective tool on our path: a map, or guide, that can assist us in
understanding our true nature. The combined Sun / Moon 'personality'
can indicate why we don't experience expanded perception: it reflects
what stands in our path in the form of habitual patterns of thinking,
feeling, and expressing that cloud the clarity of our perceptions.
Through awareness, we can use Soul Astrology to understand those
patterns of thought and behavior that we need to release, heal or
change so that we can experience our mind's true nature.
"Light
is undiminishable, eternal and omni-present. In every religion that
existed these qualities have been recognized as divine. So that we are
forced to the conclusion that light, actual sensible light, is indeed
the direct vehicle of divinity: it is the consciousness of God."
-Rodney Collin, The Theory of Celestial Influences
When each one of us has become an exquisite observer of Self, with
integrated knowledge from our personal experience and an intimate
relationship with our own soul, we will recognize our true nature as
one of light, and Soul Astrology as a true science of inner knowing.
