Was there an event or a specific day that began your awakening?

That's a tough question!

As a child, I rebelled against a lot of things, but the one thing that stands out the most is organized religion.  It never felt right to me.  Not that it's wrong to be religious because some people feel this is their truth, but I never connected with it.  There's always been something that "wasn't right" about religion.

I'm not sure if that was an awakening or not.  It was my higher self telling me something that I needed to listen to.

I used to be the world's biggest sports fanatic (Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Chiefs, NY Knicks, NY Rangers, Syracuse Orangemen) and played just about every sport imaginable.  I also got into a lot of fantasy football and baseball leagues.  It was an obsession, but it was much more than that.  It was an outlet and a way to ignore what was going on in the world around me.

After my daughter was born, I realized that I needed to do something with my life to support her to the best of my abilities, so I went to college and got a BA and a MS degree, yet I still wasn't awakened.  At the time, I was a typical guy, very self-centered and egotistic but my daughter changed that quickly.

One day, I went to my ex's house to pick up my daughter.  My ex introduced me to the trailer to "The Secret".  I went home and ordered it that day and received it several days later.  I immediately watched the movie and my life changed.  That was the last week that I watched a full game of any sport.  At the time, I had the NFL Sunday ticket just so I could watch the Chiefs play every week but I haven't watch them play a full game ever since that week.

A couple weeks later, I stumbled across 2012 on the internet.  At first, it freaked me out because all I saw were a bunch of doomsday websites.  I thought, "Damn!  My daughter is only gonna be 18 in 2012.  That's only 5 years away!"  2012 became my new obsession and I researched it every day, gathering and saving articles from the internet.  I learned that 2012 is not to be feared and that began my spiritual journey.

To pinpoint the day:  it was when I picked up my daughter and watched the trailer to "The Secret".
