Still far from the prophesied Golden Age or Satya Yuga.

The Great Year takes 24,000 years for our Sun to complete orbit around the companion Sun. There are 4 Ages or Yugas. We are in the 'Dwapara Yuga' moving into a slightly more positive polarity part of the cycle. December 21st (solstice) 2012 marks this entry into the Age of Aquarius-Leo, this marks the period when Human global consciousness starts to wakeup enmass.

THE GREAT YEAR - Cycle of the Ages

Swami Sri Yukteswar in his book called "The Holy Science" explains how the "Yuga Cycles" affect human consciousness. There are 4 ages of life and time on Earth, we are in the Bronze Age or Dwapara Yuga (negative cycle, man is asleep), and we are in the process of moving into a slightly more positive global consciousness.

The Precession of the Equinoxes also called The Great Year, refers to the slow western movement of Earth’s axis of rotation and the backward movement of the celestial sky, zodiac constellations. It takes approximately 24,000 Earth years (as above so below; 24hrs to complete a day cycle) to complete one 360 degrees revolution. Also the second part to this theory is based on the idea that our sun is in a binary star system, (like 80% of the stars in our Galaxy) and in the same period of ~ 24,000 years our sun is expected to complete it's orbit around it's companion (Sirius ?) Star.




The closer our Sun's proximity to the companion star, the greater our consciousness, heightened awareness, more energy, more intelligence, greater benevolence amongst humanity. We are leaving the Age of Pisces and entering into the Age of Aquarius. The turning point when human consciousness reaches a threshold where it shifts from being more negative to be slightly more positive is expected to be on Dec 21st 2012 (solstice). There is also a suggestion that on this date our sun will be aligned with the galactic plane.


Santos Bonacci explains in his Youtube videos on the subject of Astrotheology, how the agricultural year can be planned using the knowledge of the sun's position in the zodiac house, and how all religions is related to the story telling of these celestial movement. Santos uses the sine wave as the key to understanding the cycles and sub-cycles of time and seasons. Similarly by understanding the precession of the Equinox, the significance of the zodiac, one can understand the longer cycles of human consciousness and the predictable rise and fall of civilisations.

Most of the hype in the media pushes the idea that 2012 is about the end of time, war, doomsday, horrific natural disasters ... fear mongering.
The misinterpretation of the Mayan Calendar is often linked with this fear mongering.
While fear can help shake and awaken people out of a sense of complacency to discover more about the nature of self and reality,
I think it is more important to move through fear and realise there are those experiences that you want and those that you do not want.
Conversely 2012 represents to many people the end of the Age of Pisces, end of the paradigm of war, separateness, fear and lack and the
beginning of The Age of Aquarius.

The Age of Aquarius: dawning of the spiritual age, the start of the evolution towards the Golden Age paradigm of peace, unity, love and plentiful.
Many also perceive this time as the Age of Awareness, Age of Transition and a time of great changes.

If you really understand the word "Maya" you will realise that thoughts are real, and then you will begin to liberate yourself.

Ultimately it does not really matter what you label this shift as:
Age Of Aquarius
Apocalypse (Revelations)
End Of a one subcycle of The Mayan Calendar
Age of Awareness
Ascension or Awakening

However you choose to interpret this time of great transition depends of you. It depends on your perception of reality and self.
The two bound fish of the Age of Pisces are set free, you can choose to:
swim up current and liberate yourself in the higher vibratory energy of love and freedom (Age Of Aquarius), or
sink down current in fear and limitation.
( Hint: every perceived thing is a metaphor of your thoughts; they are thought forms.
The two fish swimming in opposite directions is a metaphorical representation of the psychological schism within Humanity.)
